NOTE: Wherever we use the word “schools” we also mean non-profit childcare centres. Whenever we use the word “kits” we are referring to the Micro Garden grow-your-own microgreen kits.

    • Have an engaged campaign contact who coordinates all aspects of the fundraiser, communicating with the principal as needed.

    • Let your school and community know that you will be taking part in the Micro Garden Fundraiser (promoting on social media, school newsletters, school websites, community bulletins, etc.)

    • Prepare the kit order forms using the provided template (for paper copies to be sent home) or create an online Google Form. Remember to add your school’s important fundraising dates and payment information.

    • Schools must submit their final orders to Bramble Hill Farm by Monday, April 29, 2024.

    • Kits will be delivered to the school between May 6-9, 2024. Organize volunteers who will sort the customer orders (the number of volunteers will be dependent on how many kits ordered). Orders can be distributed to students to take home or picked up at the school. Due to the kits’ light weight, students should be able to bring them home on the bus.

    • Actively promote sales within the school and the wider community. Consider reaching out to groups who may be interested in buying kits but don’t have connections to your school (libraries, garden clubs, etc.). NOTE: There may be other schools in your area selling at the same time.

    • Collect all money and customer orders.

    • Place one order for all kits to be delivered directly to your school via Google forms (refer to your Final Details email for link), by Monday, April 29, 2024.

    • Ensure final payment is made to Bramble Hill Farm based on the invoice you receive once your order is reviewed, and the number of kits and delivery time is confirmed.

Payment can be made by cheque or EMT to:

    Bramble Hill Farm

    53 MacDonald Hill Rd, Greenhill, N.S. B0K 2A0

    • Create opportunities to link the Micro Garden fundraiser to curriculum, food literacy skills and connections with the farm partner. Consider purchasing additional kits through this fundraiser to use in your classroom in the future.

    • Complete the brief post-campaign evaluation form to help improve the program.

  • An individual within your school community (ideally someone other than the principal or vice principal) who can commit to lead this fundraiser.

  • Your school will be selling microgreen grow-at-home kits. These kits (which are designed and made by a local Nova Scotia farm) include all the supplies needed to grow a tray of microgreens at home.

  • Micro Garden kits are sold individually for $7 or as a 3-pack bundle for $20.

  • Delivery fees are included with a minimum order of 100 kits. For schools selling/ordering fewer than 100 kits, a $30 delivery fee will be applied.

  • Single kits are sold for $7: Schools will raise $2.17 (31% margin) from each kit sold minus any fees incurred through the use of SchoolCash Online (if that is your payment method of choice). Bramble Hill will receive $4.83 (including $0.63 HST) for the kit.

3-packs are sold for $20: Schools will raise $5.51 (27.55% margin) from each 3-pack sold minus any fees incurred through the use of SchoolCash Online (if that is your payment method of choice). Bramble Hill will receive $14.49 (including $1.89 HST) for the 3-packs.
