Donate to the Nova Scotia School Food Fund

This year, Nova Scotia school food budgets are tighter than ever due to inflation, but children need healthy food at school to focus and learn.

September is the true New Year for families with school-aged children—and an expensive one at that. School supplies, clothes and shoes, extracurricular activity fees, and the grocery bill will doubtless add up to more this year than last.

A third of schools in Canada deliver school food programs each year. Although Nourish Nova Scotia is not an emergency food organization, we appreciate that many generous individuals, organizations and businesses want to donate* to school food so that Nova Scotia children can be well-nourished to live, learn and play. Nourish created the School Food Fund, which will be distributed to our public school partners according to enrolment numbers and need, to help bridge the funding gap for school food programs across the province.

Together, we can ensure that children and youth have the opportunity to eat well and learn well.

*Donations over $10 made via the Nourish website will receive a tax receipt.
